Headstones and Inscriptions

The headstone is the part of a grave that carries the name. What is cut into it lasts as long as the stone does.

A headstone carries the name, the dates of birth and death, and whatever text the family chooses. That text can be a prayer, a couplet or a few lines of verse; how much of it fits is settled together, against the size of the stone.

Once cut, an inscription cannot be changed. So the text goes to the family for approval exactly as it will be set — spellings and dates included — before anything is cut.

Headstones are cut in marble or granite, and we make them combining the two. Where a family wants a foot stone, it is cut from the same material.
