Grave Construction

Most of the graves we build in Isparta are marble. For families who ask for granite we use it too, usually alongside the marble — in the cover stones, the kerb, or the face of the headstone.

Measurements are taken where the work will stand. At the cemetery you can see the state of the ground, the limits of the plot and the distance to the graves on either side. The stone is then cut to that measurement in the workshop, its surface prepared and the inscription cut; fitting happens back at the graveside.

A grave is not one piece. The substructure beneath it, the kerb and border around it, the cover stones over it and the headstone that carries the name are all cut to the same set of measurements. Splitting that between different hands leaves differences that are hard to correct later, which is why we do all of it.
